Update from Miss Kate
Dear 4-H Families,
We want to let you know that we are still preparing for county fairs. What will the 4-H portion of fair look like this year? Probably not what we're used to, taking Covid-19 regulations and social distancing into account. Are we canceling 4-H? No. We will know more and be able to coordinate details soon. No matter what, we are committed to bringing youth a quality and safe experience to showcase their hard work!
We're also currently moving forward with all of our normal dates and deadlines for submission of ID Sheets, entries, etc. Please read your newsletter carefully for full details.
Please reach out to me with specific questions!
Sincerely,
Miss Kate

4-H T-Shirts
In the past, all of our new Lincoln County 4-H members have received a free 4-H t-shirt. We were also able to sell extras & replace outgrown tees. We had a sponsor that was paying for & providing the shirts. We are not sure this will be the case moving forward. If you need a new shirt (that will be allowable to wear during shows at fair) please visit: https://shop4-h.org/
Shirts should be plain and have the official 4-H Clover (No name(s) or club identifiers for the show ring). Below are pictures of the shirts that fit the requirement. Please let us know if you have questions!
Statewide 4-H Events
The most current info pertaining to all Statewide 4-H Events can be found at this website: https://4h.unl.edu/covid-19 Currently, administration is looking at events and making decisions on their status 6 weeks in advance. We will also pass along information as it becomes available to us!

Tractor Safety Training - UPDATE
In lieu of the in-person classroom time for Tractor Safety, an online course will be utilized. Students will register for the course and also select a site to do their driving portion. Right now, it looks like July 29 will be the driving date for the West Central area in North Platte.
Detailed instructions on signing up will be coming soon. Please call us if you'd like to be put on a list to get the information once we receive it.
Adding 4-H Projects to your Online Profile
NO Livestock Weigh-In &Tagging Events for 2020
For 2020, there will not be any 4-H weigh-in or tagging in-person gatherings (per Nebraska 4-H).
All animals will need to be tagged by the member/family this year. Appropriate affidavit(s) will also need to be filled out and submitted by the June 15th deadline. (In lieu of physically bringing id sheets to the office emailing will be acceptable this year).
Please call to arrange payment & pick up of tags in our entryway. We've included a chart of what projects need tags/tattoos/id sheets, etc. submitted.
Please let us know if you have questions!

Quality Assurance - Important Update!
*Youth planning to exhibit at the Nebraska State fair will need to complete the online quality assurance training by June 15th.
With our in-person restriction going through June 15, we are waiting to hear if the deadline will be extended so we can offer an alternate/in-person option to those who only plan to exhibit at the county fair. Please stay tuned.
*ALL Livestock Exhibitors are REQUIRED to complete this training. It includes both Market & Breeding animals. Please contact us if you have any questions.
See the details below on signing up for the online.
State 4-H Horse Updates - Virtual Skills & Demonstration Testing
With the in-person meeting restriction being extended to June 15, the State Office is moving to a virtual skills and demonstration testing format. Horse Exhibitors, please watch your email for documents that outline this process.
**Lincoln County 4-H Hippology Contest is tentatively planned for Thursday, July 9th at the Ag Activities Building at the Fairgrounds.
***Hippology points WILL count towards Lincoln County All Around Award this year.
Great Plains Livestock Judging Circuit
As of now, the circuit is going to continue. Some of the originally scheduled contests have been postponed & with PASE moving to September it will provide an opportunity for contests to be held live at a later date or ran virtually.
*We hope to hold our Lincoln County Judging Contest (that is typically held in June) in conjunction with the county fair. Please watch for updates.
As decisions are made in regards to the remaining contests on the circuit schedule, you can track the schedule online at 4h.unl.edu/livestock. The schedule is constantly being updated.
Photography Project Updates
All of the photography classes for county fair have changed! A new photography curriculum was adopted by Nebraska 4-H. The new classes directly relate to activities in the new project manuals. You can view them and purchase from this link: https://shop4-h.org/collections/creative-arts-curriculum
The new names for each level are: Photography Basics (Beginner), Next Level Photography (Intermediate), & Mastering Photography (Advanced). There are some online resources related to each here: https://4-h.org/parents/curriculum/photography/#!photography-basics
We are planning to have workshop to help 4-Her's learn the new classes/curriculum. We should also have the 2020 fair book posted within the next week for your reference.
