Reykjavík, Iceland --> London, United Kingdom
Getting There
Getting to London consists of two flights with a one day stop in Keflavik, Iceland and will take approximately 7 hours and 20 minutes.
After that I will fly to London, England which will take 3 hours. Then I will travel back to Denver which will take 20 hours and 40 minutes with a refueling stop in Reykjavik, Iceland. It will be different because I'm taking Iceland Air Flight. And the entire flight to get to there will be really long. And the only time I have ever flown, was not overseas.
Where to Stay
While I'm in Keflavik, Iceland I will be staying at Center Hotel Skjaldbreid which will cost $128.00 a night. It is also in the perfect location for sightseeing and souvenir shopping.
While I'm in London, England I will be staying at the Wellesley London Hotel which will cost $398.00 a night. and will also be in a perfect place for sightseeing.
Activities
While I'm in London I will be going to 23 different places which include, London Eye, Natural History Museum, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, London Underground, Palace of Westminster, British Museum, Hyde Park, Trafalgar Square, St Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, National Gallery London, London Dungeon, London Zoo, Kensington Palace, Madame Tussauds London, Camden Market, Stone Hedge, Earls Court Station, London Film Museum, Doctor who Museum, and last but not least the Who Shop. I'm pretty much going to all these places to experience the culture and history of London. Except for the last 4. I'm going to the last ones because of my favorite show, Doctor Who. I'm going to the Earls Court Station and the London Film Museum because they have secret Doctor who Items hidden around the premises. The Doctor Who Museum pretty much explains itself and the Who Shop is a shop that's all about Doctor Who.
History and Culture
Iceland is known as a good place to see the northern lights and I'm going there, hoping that there will be a solar flare that allows me to see such a sight.
In 1215 King John was forced to sign a document called the Magna Carta which states that everyone gets basic rights, and I'm hoping to see that while in London. I'm also hoping to see Stone Hendge that has a history of no one knowing how and when it got there. I'm also hoping to see Buckingham Palace which has been in London, England since 1837.
Problems/Solutions
I'm going to get a passport so that I can go, I will need to exchange my American dollars in to British pounds/Euros depending on the exchange rate, I need to get use to the natives euphemisms, have to pay attention when I'm driving, and I need adjust to the time zone difference.
Conclusion/Reflection
I think that the trip will be a really good one due to the fact that it is a place with lots of sights and lots of historical and cultural places, it's also going to be great that one of my favorite shows takes place and is filmed there. I also think that it will be a great learning experience to learn about all the different things there and find out more then I already know. And what will make it better is that I get to learn about even more things when I make a one day stop in Iceland. All in all I think it will be great.
About the Traveler
I've always had a fondness of traveling and learning about new places and seeing new things, and I think that London, England is such an interesting place because it is such a different place from the United States, so that makes me like it even more. And I've always thought of London, England as a place with an amazing historical and cultural background. And me being a person who loves to travel, I am going there to see and learn about.
