Prop A includes infrastructure work at 45 campuses. Projects at these campuses may include addressing chillers, boilers, air handlers, generators, freezer/coolers, roof sections, and electrical service equipment. Safety projects for all campuses are also included in Prop A. These could include door or window glazing, fencing, and security camera updates among other things. Safety projects are approved by the Board of Trustees based on safety recommendations made by the District Safety Committee, which is composed of safety experts and stakeholders from across our community. Electronic report cards for the first grading period will be available on Parent Access on Friday, October 13. If you have not signed up for a Parent Access account, please follow the steps below. If you need to add a student to your current account, there are directions for that as well! Paper report cards will not be sent home.

How to sign up for Parent Access, 1st Student:

Go to ConroeISD.net/Parents/Students/Parent Access Center

Choose Register

Complete all fields, which includes your child’s student ID. This number was sent to you by email when you registered for school or it is on their last report card from last year. If you are unable to locate it, please contact us at ContactPowell@ConroeISD.net and we can help you.

Once you have completed the application, it will let you know that it was successful and you will receive an email in 24 hours to set up your password. If any information is incorrect, it will let you know which field to correct.

How to sign up for Parent Access, if you already have an account set up for an older child:

Go to ConroeISD.net/Parents/Students/Parent Access Center

Log in by entering your UserID (email) and Password but DO NOT HIT ENTER. Instead, scroll further down on that webpage and click on the “Register” link. It will then prompt you to add another student. Once that is complete, then every time you log in to Parent Access, it will first ask which student account you wish to view.

If you have a student in KG or 1st Grade and wish to review their Report Card:

Under Student Information, scroll down to Standard Based Report Card (PreK-2) to view

If you have a student in 2nd-4th Grade and wish to review their Report Card:

In June, you will receive a printed Report Card by mail that covers the entire year.

A 3rd grade student from each classroom was invited to attend Lunch Bunch today with the principals! These students were chosen for making good choices and being a positive role model to their peers. We are so proud of these panthers! Keep up the great work!

On November 10, the author Susan Stevens Crummel will be visiting our school to speak to each grade level. Mrs. Crummel has written many books for children including The Donkey Egg, Help Me, Mr. Mutt, and Cook-a-Doodle-Doo.

Powell students are already big fans of Mrs. Crummel's books, so her visit will be an excellent reading and writing motivation. We are looking forward to hosting her next month!

If you would like to purchase books to be autographed by Susan Steven Crummel, please scan the QR code or go to the online order form no later than Wednesday, October 25.

Testing Referral requests are now open for Conroe Independent School District Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until late January, referral requests are accepted at this time. Referral requests can be made by the parents and/or campus staff. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in referring your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Referrals will be accepted October 2 - December 15, 2023. You may request a referral form from the front office or your child's teacher. You can also find the referral form and other GT information on the CISD GT homepage https://www.conroeisd.net/department/tl/gifted-talented/ > scroll down to program forms > referral forms. Please send the completed form to the school addressed to Monica Hock.

Conroe ISD Library Services enabled daily email notifications, so you are informed of the items checked out by your student. Daily emails will list the item(s) currently checked out. If the book(s) your student selected is not a good fit, please have your student return it to the campus library and choose a new title. If you have questions about the book(s), please contact the school librarian. Notifications for these daily messages can be managed in Parent Access Center (PAC). If you don’t have a PAC account, you will need to register for one to access the email settings. You can also view the item(s) your student checked out by logging in to Destiny Discover through your student's SSO account. You can further manage your student’s access to library materials by completing the Library Access Form found on the Library Services website along with viewing other helpful information. Please do not reply to this email as it comes from an unmonitored email account.

Would you like to get an early start on the Halloween festivities? You're in luck! The Woodlands High School Social Studies National Honor Society is holding a Truck or Treat on Saturday, October 28 from 4-6 PM in the front parking lot at TWHS Senior Campus. Stop by to receive some candy and participate in crafts and games. Make sure to wear your costume and tell your friends!

Beginning Monday, October 2nd:

With the exception of service animals, dogs and other pets are not allowed on school grounds during arrival and dismissal. This is for the safety of our students and staff.

We still welcome dogs in vehicles in the car rider line, but will no longer allow leashed dogs on our sidewalks on school property.

Parent Access Center (PAC) is the CISD system for parents which provides online access to all your child’s class assignments, assignment grades, test grades, as well as attendance, discipline, progress reports, and report cards. If you currently have a Parent Access Center account, there is no need to renew your account as you have had to do in previous years. Parents can register for a PAC account from the Conroe ISD home page under the Student/Parent link. Student data will not be available until school begins.

All SMS messages received from the Conroe ISD District Office and Powell Elementary will begin with "Conroe ISD:" and come from the subscribe code 67587. If you have not yet opted-in to receive SMS messages, you can do so at any time throughout the school year by texting "Y" to 67587.
