NRA Rifle & Shotgun Certification Training
For those of you who are interested, the NRA rifle and shotgun certification training is comine up this fall:

Outdoor Ethics Guide: Released last week. This guide is for use by the Outdoor Ethics Guide (Boy Scout youth position) and Outdoor Ethics Advisor (Adult) for Troops and may also be adopted for use by Venturing Crews. There will be a session at University of Scouting for Scout Leaders and Youth 14yo+ on how to incorporate this position into your unit and how to use the guide.

Keep on Recruiting for your Scout Unit
- Consider a re-rally - it's not too late!
- Continue phone calls, email, and contacting those who expressed and interest in scouting
- Coordinate with your school to participate in Curriculum Night (showcase the things you do in your unit by creating a trip-fold and table display) always include the scouts in your recruiting efforts
- Peer to peer recruiting (show your scouts the recruiting patch as an incentive to bring a friend and get them registered)
- Bring them to the fishing derby in October at Holland Lake in Weatherford
Membership
Be sure to have a New Member Coordinator in your unit to welcome new scouters and inform them of the many ways they may be involved in scouting at the unit level.
