Smart Choices for Online Sources
A Guide to Digital Citizenship!
What does it mean to be a digital citizen?
In today's world, there is so much great information at our fingertips. Being a good digital citizen means understanding how to give credit to all your sources of information and making responsible decisions online. This includes respecting intellectual property, understanding copyright and fair use, and overall promoting the best digital citizenship!
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Intellectual Property is a creation of the mind! It can be protected by a patent, trademark, copyright, or other forms of law.
COPYRIGHT
Copyright Law protects all original creative works. This includes literature, music, drama, artwork and more!
FAIR USE
Fair Use is the ability to use a portion of copyrighted work verbatim (word-for-word), so long as it is for education, news and reporting, criticism, or research.
