WILLIAM PIKE
Through the William Pike Challenge the children are provided with exciting opportunities to step outside of their comfort zone and develop and strengthen vital universal life skills. This is a programme that is based on 3 elements - Outdoor Activity, Community Service and Passion Projects. These concepts are an integral part of the Year 7/8 Curriculum with aspects of our classroom programme already interweaving.
The William Pike Challenge helps to provide the support for our youth to step into a rapidly and dramatically changing world, like nothing we’ve ever seen before. We, and particularly they, will be challenged by unexpected changes and obstacles in life that we probably can’t yet imagine. When big challenges and change come from out of the blue, succeeding or failing comes down to just one thing: whether you’re already used to pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Developing these essential life-skills is what the William Pike Challenge overall goal is.
We have been really lucky to source funding from Toko Lions to support this programme and as a result the cost to our parents has been reduced to $17.00 per child. On behalf of our school community we would like to thank Toko Lions for supporting our school.

Year 5 & 6 Rippa Rugby Coaches
A note is coming home today to all Year 5 & 6 children providing information on the upcoming Rippa tournament.
We require 3 volunteers to help manage our 3 Year 5 & 6 rippa rugby teams who are competing in a tournament at Stratford Primary on Thursday 30th of May. We are entering 2 competitive teams of 10 players and 1 non competitive team. We require an adult for each team to help out on the day, with ensuring the teams are on the right field at the right time and to manage the subs. You do not need to run any practices as we are working on our Rippa rugby skills in PE lessons. If you are able to help out on the day please email me rebecca.jury@toko.school.nz. You do not need to be an expert as I can help out on the day. Thanks in advance.
Jones Cup Coaches
We are still in desperate need of some coaches for our Jones Cup rugby and netball teams.
We require coaches for the following teams:
Year 5 & 6 netball team
2 x Year 7 & 8 netball teams
Year 5 & 6 rugby team
Please email if you are able to help out rebecca.jury@toko.school.nz
