Learning Resources
Nurse Updates
If your student requires medication during the school day and you need to drop off your medication order forms and medication supply, we will have a drop off table the first days of school for hybrid students, September 8 and September 10 from 7:45-10.
Medications to be taken during school hours must be brought to school and delivered to the school nurse or designated adult in the ORIGINAL container with all labels intact. Over the counter medications should only be sent to school for a specific condition your child is known to experience. Whenever possible, medications should be given before or after school. All medications must be accompanied by parental permission and prescription medication also require written authorization from the prescribing physician or health care provider. Herbals, food supplements, alternative medicinal products, and other items that do not have FDA approval also require a written order from a prescribing health care provider in addition to a parent signature.
Medication forms can be found on the district website:
https://www.lexrich5.org/Page/9179
TDAP Immunization Record (7th Grade ONLY) (Hybrid and FIVE)
- Provide a copy of your child's Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) to the school nurse in order to complete registration. This is a state requirement. You or your doctor's office can fax or scan the immunization record to 803-476-3620, or email Nurse Huey at mhuey@lexrich5.org
Irmo Area Bus Transportation
In preparation for the new school year, the Transportation Department is working with each school to identify students who have elected to ride the bus upon our return on September 8th. Parents who have requested bus transportation through the District Parent Re-entry Survey will be assigned to a bus based on Cohort assignments. Once buses are assigned, you will be notified by a phone call or email regarding your student’s transportation information. Final arrangements are expected to be completed by August 26, 2020. Students’ assigned transportation after August 26th may not be allowed to ride the bus until after September 29th once seating capacity is determined and route changes finalized.
Email is the preferred method of communication with our office. Please keep in mind that buses are monitored by the office during the morning and afternoon runs and it may be difficult to reach us by telephone during those hours. If you have questions, please contact the Irmo Transportation office via email at irmotransportation@lexrich5.org .
In accordance with DHEC and Department of Education the following protocols will be in place:
All buses will be fully sanitized twice a day.
School buses are authorized to seat two students per seat. Whenever possible, students from the same household will be seated together.
Masks are required for all students while on the school bus. In accordance with guidance from the CDC and state officials, face coverings must completely cover the nose and mouth. Individuals with medical conditions that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering may seek reasonable accommodations. A request for medical exception must include written documentation, signed by a medical doctor, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner, demonstrating that wearing a face mask poses a medical risk to a person’s physical well-being and is medically inadvisable. Disabilities and religious beliefs that prevent students from wearing face coverings may also be considered for exemptions, with written requests for reasonable accommodations. Requests must be submitted to your school administrator before September 8th, the start of school for students.
Parents, please remind your students of the importance of maintaining social distancing guidelines which include bus stops locations.
See District Five website lexrich5.org for additional details.

At the present time we will be limiting the number of students in SOAR to 10 in each grade per cohort. If your student is planning to participate in the hybrid model and you would like for them to participate in SOAR, please click here.
