Happy New Year from Scott DL!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful winter break and is ready for a new year of learning and growth. January is a month full of exciting events and activities, and we can't wait to get started.

Students and staff showed their December spirit by sporting with tacky sweaters, crazy socks, their favorite team, cozy PJs, and festive attire!

3rd-grade students had an excellent opportunity to learn about the Board of Education during their government unit.

We hosted our first band and strings concert on 11/30! Students grades 3-5 got the opportunity to watch their final rehearsal and learned how to be a good audience! That evening, students did a fantastic job showing their ROAR, as well as their musical talents!

Due to changes in staffing and an increased focus on reading skills, we will be restructuring our classes for H.O.P.E. in January 2023 and going to two days (instead of three). HOPE will now only be on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We ask that new and current families that would like to participate in H.O.P.E. during the second semester reapply here. Students selected to participate during the third quarter will receive an acceptance letter before the start date, Wednesday, January 11, 2023 (note the date change). Miss Irlanda, our amazing school nurse, requests the following clothing and sizes for our school clinic:

• Boys' pants size 8 -10
• Girls' pants size 3 - 6
• Shoes, any kids' size.

Please donate only clean clothing. Thank you!

• Doors open and breakfast begins at 8:20 a.m.

• Instruction begins at 8:40 a.m.

• Late Start will be on Fridays

• Doors open at 9:10am

• Instruction begins at 9:30 a.m.

• PreK: Dismissal is at 3:30 p.m.

• K-5: Dismissal is at 3:40 p.m.

• Don't forget to check your student’s backpack daily!

• If you know that your child is going to be absent, please call the school at 785-235-7480.

• If you need to pick your child up early, please be advised that we will call them down to the office once you arrive at the school.

• If you need to change the way your child goes home, please call the office by 1:00 for us to have time to communicate those
