Ms. Duggan's Class Newsletter

Week 8

Curriculum Corner

Reading: We can make connections to the books we read and stop to make notes about them as we read. We enjoyed reading a few Kevin Henkes books!

Writing: We will celebrate our published books by reading them aloud in small groups and adding them to our class library. This is the end of our first writing unit and we have made major progress!

Science: This week discussed the different ways that rocks, soil and water are used.

Math: We assessed all of the skills that we have learned this year so far: Counting to 120 by 1's and 10's, subitizing, composing and decomposing numbers, and representing numbers in multiple ways.

Social Studies/PBL: In our PBL time we learned cardinal directions and began to work on the map of our island.

**I looked into the math links on my website and edited a bit. You should not need a username or password to play any of the math games. Let me know if you are still having problems.

Due to Technical Difficulties, their will be lots of photos next week! Sorry for the delay

These orders also earn points for our classroom and can contribute to our classroom library as well! The order deadline is October 27th, but new orders can be placed each month.
