News from Strausser Elementary

Last Day of School - May 26

This is just a reminder that May 26 is the last day of school. Students will be dismissed at 12:20 pm with the intent that buses will exit the parking lot at 12:25 pm. Parent pick-up will begin at 12:15 pm. On the final day of school, we ask that eLearners continue to log in for attendance.

Thank You

Parents and Guardians,

Your support during this most unusual school year has been nothing short of amazing! It has been a true pleasure watching your resilient children learn and grow while navigating a new normal because of the pandemic. Our hope is that all of you are able to enjoy summer and make wonderful memories. To our fifth grade students and families, you will be missed. We wish you good luck at JMMS! Remember to represent Strausser in the best way possible. To our families relocating, best of luck to you in your new journey. To our students returning in August, we look forward to having you back with us at Strausser for another exciting school year.

Thank you again for your continued support this year.

Chromebooks G3, G4, G5

Students currently in grades 3, 4, and 5 that will be enrolled in Jackson Local during the 21-22 school year will be bringing their devices, cases, and chargers home with them for the summer. Please help your child keep track of their device, charger, and case. As a rule of thumb, the computer should ALWAYS stay in its case. The Technology Department will be quite busy this summer with various projects. If you experience a technology issue with this device, there could be a delay in processing your request as schedules are adjusted. Please complete the information located here if you experience an issue with your school-issued device.

Summer Technology Resources

Many parents have asked about the summer availability of the technology resources that your child utilized throughout the school year. Polaris will become inaccessible once school ends. However, Clever will be available until July 23rd. Most students are quite comfortable accessing the digital resources that their teachers have linked in Clever.

Below you will see the subscription resources for your students. Please feel free to encourage them to keep up with their studies!

A Message From the Clinic

End of the year medication will need to be picked up no later than June 10th. The school office will be open from 8:00am-4:00pm. If your child's medication has not been picked up by this date it will be disposed of. Please call the school if you have any questions.

New medication forms for prescription medication are located here on the Jackson Local Schools website. All medication that will be given at school MUST have a new prescription form completed by your child’s physician at the beginning of each school year.
