Spreading Positivity and Kindness at Williamson

Two Williamson students have started a Positivity - Kindness Club at the high school. The group was announced on November 13 - World Kindness Day. That Wednesday, librarian, Mrs. Schauf created a wonderful photo opportunity in the hallway outside the auditorium. Students and staff became the 'i' in Kind with this display. (See pictures above).

The group has met twice and has already been busy spreading positivity and kindness throughout the school. Their first project was to create a bulletin board with "Need One, Take One" positive messages. Similar words of encouragement are placed above the school's water fountains and other locations around the building.

Meetings are generally on Fridays during 10th period. Our next meeting is Friday, December 13th. All positive ideas welcome!

Mrs. Zimmerman and Mrs. Petrucci serve as advisors for the club. Stop by to see us for more information, or join the Positivity - Kindness Club Schoology Group for all the latest club updates!

Happy (or Stressful) Holidays?

The holidays can be an exciting time of year - with time off from school and work, extra visits with family and friends, festive holiday gatherings and the like. For some, however, the holidays can be a difficult, stressful time. This article from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has some great pointers to avoid stress as we continue through the holiday season.

WHS Counseling Office Website

We have been working hard to update the high school counseling office website. Please check out the changes. Let us know if there would be any other content that would be helpful to have on the site.

Sophomores to visit Wayne Technical and Career Center

Many of the students from the Williamson Class of 2022 will visit the Wayne Technical and Career Center (WTCC) the first two weeks of December. In November, Ms. Schillaci went in to Global 10 classes and presented information about WTCC and the various programs they offer. Students have had permission slips signed and have chosen one or two programs they wish to visit. The visits will help students determine if they would like to attend one of the WTCC programs in their junior and/or senior years.
