CT State Testing in the RLE
FOR GRADES 3, 4, and 5 ONLY
Overview of Assessment & Schedule
At-home students in Connecticut public schools have been provided an opportunity to take Connecticut's state assessments (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium or SBAC) remotely this year due to the pandemic.
Students will be taking the SBAC (math and ELA) and NGSS (science for Grade 5 only) assessments in late April and early May. All of our Grade 3-5 WHPS remote students will be scheduled to take the SBAC practice tests remotely.
PRACTICE TESTS for all RLE students will occur remotely during their class group sessions on the following days:
- Grade 5's Practice Day #1= Monday, March 29th
- Grade 4's Practice Day #1= Tuesday, March 30th
- Grade 3's Practice Day #1 = Thursday, April 1st
- Grade 3-5's Practice Day #2 = Tuesday, April 20th
Remote students who do not have a district issue device will then take the summative SBAC tests in-person at a testing location offered (see separate communication from the RLE principal shared with applicable families). Click on the "Remote Test Takers" or the "In-Person Test Takers" button below to see the test day schedule that your child will follow.
The information presented in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) link below is for the parents/guardians of students participating in the SBAC practice tests and/ or summative assessments remotely. (All in-person test takers will receive additional information from their chosen testing center coordinator in the near future.)
Also, please review the helpful tips shared below for all RLE students to be successful on their testing days.
