Troubleshooting Tips

Everything you need to know!

Stay Calm and Teach On

Sometimes a Learnpad doesn't behave the way we want it to and there can be any number of reasons for this. Here are some basic tips on what you can try right at that moment.

Perhaps connecting to wifi is a problem...

What if the device is frozen?

  1. Hold the power (on/off) button on the side of the device for 10-15 seconds. The goal is to force the device to shut off, the screen will go black if this works.
  2. If forcing the power off doesn't work, try put the end of a paperclip into the hole right below the home button (second button) on the side of the device. This should only be done as a last resort, but does work to turn off the device when all else fails.
  3. No matter which way you get the device off, wait for at least 10 seconds before trying to start the device again.
  4. Sometimes, you may need to plug the power cord into the device before restarting. When the battery is low, the device will have trouble restarting without power.

Having keyboard trouble?

Make sure you have a charged keyboard first! Turn the keyboard power button to on and make sure the light above 'Power' comes on. If it doesn't, plug in the cords and see that the light above 'Charge' turns on.

  • Not charging? Make sure cords are correct: short cord to the device, long cord to the keyboard.
