Message from the Boss...
NO TEAM PLC's next week. I will be working with the 1/2 Department PD through Wednesday. You can certainly meet as a TEAM but I will not be attendance.
Friday's 1/2 day Math went extremely well. Looking forward to meeting with the rest of the departments. We will meet in the PD room (310). Please remember to bring any items that you need for planning. We will also discuss failing students and bring Chromebook. We will quickly complete your Mid-year PGP review, at that time. I have snacks and water. You need anything additional, bring it with you.
Have a restful weekend!
Love you,
Casey Hanna
GREAT KINDNESS CHALLENGE
Below are the Great Kindness Challenge ideas Nicole and Sydney would like to do at CMSS. These are the ideas we discussed at their district counseling meeting on Friday.
1. Admin: "Caught you being kind" selfies with students/teachers, etc. to tweet/facebook out to bring awareness to kindness.
2. Kindness stations at recess: Thank you notes and side walk chalk for positive messages.
3. Kindness Chain: Slips of paper given to students by staff when they are "caught being kind" to add to the grade level paper chain. Paper chains will be turned into Advisory teachers by the students. Chains will be constructed by Advisory and then advisory links to their team and then teams link all together for the final grade level chain. Reveal and grade level winner to be revealed at a Real Panther assembly of your choice to honor the Kindness grade level winner (5th or 6th).
4. Dress up days: Below are dress up days discussed for next week (January 23-27). We can start announcing this week.
- Monday, January 23rd...Crazy For Kindness (Crazy Sock Day)
- Tuesday, January 24th...On the Hunt for Kindness (Wear camo)
- Wednesday, January 25th...Kindness Ties Us Together (Everybody wears ties, bows, & bow-ties)
- Thursday, January 26th...Ride The Wave of Kindness (Sunglasses/Beach attire)
- Friday, January 27th...Powered by Kindness (Superhero Day)
5. Post its for the kindness tree: As part of 6th grade guidance lesson and 5th grade advisory lesson post its will be provided to advisories so students can record an act of kindness they would like to post on our kindness tree in the hallway.
