Greetings Lemira Family:
Welcome to a new week of learning, growth, and opportunities! We will continue to focus on our mission to to motivate, inspire, and educate all students to be college and career ready. We will continue to forge forward with "Leading and Learning with Intention and Optimism as we Nurture the Success of all Students", for we are the L.I.O.N.S.

Congratulations to Ms. Ingram, our attendance clerk, the MTSS Foundations team, staff, parents, and students, for the "Impact Award" district recognition. Our team received "Silver" status for the "Attendance Impact" Award for our joint efforts in reducing Truancy numbers. #Attendance H.E.R.O
Special Thanks......
Thank you to Ms. Kathy Morrison (District Rep), Mr. Fletcher, and the Blue Cross, Blue Shield agency for sponsoring our sensory items and sensory path. The items will be integrated into our "Sensory/Cooling Down" room. The sensory path will be used in a designated area of our hallway to assist with support strategies. #SEL
Announcements
1. Monday, February 21st is a Teacher In-Service-workday.
- There will be no student attendance.
- Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 22nd.
2. Mark your calendar for March 1, 2022 - Title One Family Engagement Workshop
- We will host our Science Fair Workshop. This workshop will provide a hands on experiment for parents and students.
- Tips will be shared to prepare families to assist their learners with their upcoming class projects.
- Students who attend will receive a free science fair board.
- Refreshments will be served.
- Where: Lemira Cafeteria
- Time: 6pm
- Interim Parent conferences for all students will be scheduled starting the week of 2/28.
4. This week, we will continue our celebration of Black History Month. Presentations will continue to be shared on our "Good Morning Lemira Show", along with classroom activities.
Each Friday in February is a "Spirit Week".
- Friday, February 25, wrap up to our celebration, will be a recognition of Historically Black Colleges that have influenced American history and society.
- Students may wear a HBCU t-shirt or Unity t-shirt with their uniform pants.
5. PreK and Kind. New Student Registration for the 22-23 school year will continue until slots fill. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Ms. Ingram, our attendance and registrar clerk.
6. Dental Bus: Lemira and the Sumter School District has partnered with Dental Access Carolina to provide students with comprehensive dental care during school hours. If you are interested in the services, please complete and return the form to your child's teacher (through the Blue Communication Folder). If you have any questions, please feel free to call Nurse Ketchum, our school nurse.
