Dear Head Community,

I was able to enjoy the beautiful weather while on a field trip with Kindergarten today! What a difference a week makes! Speaking of beautiful weather, the kids had a blast on the Day of Awesomeness. Thanks to the volunteers who helped make it a success. Our fifth graders are both nervous and excited to visit Five Forks Middle School next week. It's hard to believe we are already thinking about next year.

PTA News You Can Use

Our spring Step It Up Fundraiser was a success raising $22,273!! Thank you so much for submitting email addresses and for all who contributed. We capped off the fundraiser with a totally awesome Day of Awesomeness on Tuesday. All of the students got to enjoy the beautiful day with time outside dancing, running, jumping, and competing at some fun inflatable games. Some of the teachers and administration even got in on the fun! We had tons of awesome volunteers to help keep the kiddos safe - Thank you!

Kindergarten Registration

🍎Do you have a child that will be starting Kindergarten next year?🍎

Kindergarten Registration for the 2023-2024 school year is coming soon! The online registration process will open on Monday, April 10th. When completing the online registration form, please make sure to select the 2023-2024 school year from the drop-down list.

Once registration is complete, bring your child to Head Elementary for a Kindergarten Screening Assessment on Tuesday, April 18th (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 4:00 PM to 7 PM).

Media Center

Battle of the Books is coming May 17th! Join one of the book clubs below, and read as many books as you can. The Game Show over the books will be May 17th during school. Choose the book club closest to your ability. All ages can play!

Spanish Club has ended for the year. Please go to the public library and get a library card, and sign up for a FREE Mango languages account!

Are you tagging the correct school page/account on your posts?

Please make sure to tag "R.D. Head Elementary School", which is the official school page and the one we control.

Unfortunately, some are tagging "Head Elementary School" which is an unofficial Facebook page that we did not generate and have no control over. The profile image looks identical on both pages (the correct one has the #GCPSstrong banner) so it can be confusing.
