Dryden Dolphin Splash Newsletter
March 15, 2020
Dear Dolphins,
We have entered "uncharted waters" and are embarking on new remote learning adventures together!
As Superintendent Dr. Bein and Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning Dr. Fitzpatrick have previously communicated, tomorrow will be our first Remote Learning Day. Links for accessing Remote Learning Plans are shared below. Starting on March 18, classroom teachers will email parents and guardians at the beginning of each Remote Learning Day.
I invite our school community to continue sharing and celebrating with one another the wonderful learning that is happening via our school Twitter:

These snapshots can help us to stay connected, and positively support and encourage one another throughout our upcoming learning adventures.
As a mom of three kids, I have been discussing new routines with my own family as we aim to have a balance of learning, creating, tech time, exercise, outdoor time, structured time, chores and free play time at home. As I try to emphasize the purpose and importance of social-distancing during the current school closure with my kids, I am seeing that it will be a relatively easy adjustment for my child who is more introverted and calm, and quite challenging for my child who is very extroverted and high-energy!
Whether we are physically in the building or not, caring for and supporting our entire school community remains my top priority. Do all of our students have appropriate childcare, meals, internet access, learning resources and devices? This is something that weighs heavily on my mind. Please know that you can continue to contact me on Remote Learning Days should you need assistance or if you have any questions. You can reach me via email at asessler@sd25.org or phone at 847-398-4280, ext. 6501.
Throughout my eight years at Dryden, I have been continually inspired by the kindness and support that our school community has provided one another. The coming days are an opportunity to show our strength. We will continue to communicate with you and support our students, staff and families. Thank you for your partnership as we work together to keep our school community healthy and safe. It is very important to take care of yourselves, your families and each other. And please, keep washing your hands! Together, we will see this through. Together we can help our school community to continue learning and keep safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Akemi Sessler, Dryden Principal

Dolphin Pods
The theme of our Pod meeting for March was Leprechaun Fun! We listened to a story- How to Catch a Leprechaun and then built our own versions of a leprechaun alarm system. Students used various materials for their designs and it was great to see mixed-age groups getting creative and working together!

Tennis Club at Dryden!
We are excited to announce that Tennis Club is coming to Dryden thanks to our PTA! If your child would like to participate (no experience or equipment needed!), be on the look out for a time-stamped sign up form on Monday, March 16th at 9 a.m. Tennis Club will take place on Mondays starting April 6 during lunch recess. There is limited space for Tennis Club, so there will only be 20 spots for each lunch recess. The PTA looks forward to sharing this wonderful sport with your children!
