Distance Learning Academy Grade 8

HOW TO PLAN FOR 9TH GRADE CLASSES

Greetings students and families of the class of 2025!

Good morning 8th-grade students and families. Today, students who attend in-person school are receiving the same message contained in the video below. The video walks through the registration guide and how to use it to plan out each trimester for 9th grade. The high school staff is ready to assist in answering any questions you may have as you prepare for high school courses. If you have any questions regarding registration, please reach out to the high school counselors. Their contact information is located throughout the guide.

DO ALL DLA STUDENTS REGISTER FOR HIGH SCHOOL?

YES! We want ALL Distance Learning Academy students to register for high school regardless if they are undecided or know they will be attending the Distance Learning Academy next year.

There is a page devoted to the Distance Learning Academy in the registration guide. If you are interested in returning full-time and or part-time, please complete the Interest Survey. Completing this survey will help us plan and staff for the next school year.

VIRTUAL QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSIONS

The high school teachers are hosting two virtual informational registration sessions on February 8 and 10 from 5:30-7:30. Information on how to access those sessions will be communicated tomorrow in my weekly update.

FEBRUARY 11

On February 11th, Distance Learning Academy Students will learn how to log in to the registration portal and request their classes for next school year. More detailed information will be shared next week. Our goal is to have all 8th-grade students registered for their 9th-grade classes by February 12.

Students receiving special education services will be working closely with their case managers through this process. Again if you have any questions, please reach out to the high school counselors. If they do not know the answer to your question, they will find the answer and get back to you.

Please contact the counselors if you have any questions,
