TRIBE Time Community Outreach
Each Monday is Culture and Community Outreach Day during TRIBE Time. During this time teachers and students focus on opportunities to get involved in the community while promoting a positive campus culture. This includes learning the school song and pep rally cheers and chants; making cards and crafts to send to the nursing homes and Veteran's hospital; showing support for local first responders and cleaning up our campus-inside and out.

Distance Learning in English Learner Classroom
English Learner students at LHR participated in a special distance-learning activity on October 4th. Dr. Larry Johnson, professor at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM), described and demonstrated the structure and function of the respiratory system with anatomical specimens, models, and demonstrations. The students learned how we breathe and how much air our lungs hold. They also observed how smoking affects cell function, appearance, and condition of the lungs and learned about its possible role in causing lung cancer. We appreciate Ms. Wessels coordinating the unique learning opportunity for our students.
