Mrs. Pogue's Kindergarten
We greeted each other with the floppy fish. Ask me to teach it to you! We are working on using our right hard with our greetings. During our share, we are working on making connections to the things other people share about BUT not interrupting in that moment to talk about it!
We played four corners this week with new sight words. We worked on he, she, in, and it. Can I identify these words easily?
Overall, we just worked on being good friends to each other. The last couple of weeks, we have not always shown kindness during our time in the classroom and on the playground. We are working on finishing strong and being kind, compassionate, thoughtful (almost) first graders!
Our countdown is in full effect as we celebrate our learning and time together this year...
ARRR Matey! Treasure Hunt Tuesday - we listened to and found ar words around the room. We have talked about bossy r throughout interactive writing this year. We added the words to a treasure map! We spent some time with our book buddies. We also enjoyed some Pirate's Booty and another festive snack!
Popsicles in the Park - we listened to The Most Magnificent Thing in our classroom and began dismantling our classroom as we know it (table tubs, word wall, etc.). We visited the gym for Volleyball where the teachers played the 5th graders. We also enjoyed poipsicles outside for snack!
Last Day! Hooray! - we went to the gym for our very last Good Morning Monroe as a Kindergartener. We spent time in the classroom cleaning, putting things away, and helping Mrs. Pogue get ready for summer. We spent some time outside for recess! We enjoyed pizza for lunch and ice cream sundaes for snack! We listened to Last Day Blues and Mrs. Spitzer's Garden.
Words To Know...
We are reviewing the words we have learned this year as well as talking about some words that have been in our poems that are harder such as: out, how, about, down, goes, comes, etc.
We have been playing four corners to help us practice! We are working on using all of these words appropriately in sentences as well as identifying and writing it. You can also work on your child's fluency by combining sight words to make sentences to read such as I can see a ________________ or I have a ____________________.
