Calendar Updates for 2022-2023

Shelby County Public Schools Board of Education voted to amend the 2021 - 2022 School Calendar for the Spring Semester of 2022. The addition of five Personalized Learning Days will help students who need to remediate, enrich their learning, and work with teachers on their personalized learning goals. COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics

Shelby County Public Schools is pleased to partner with Wild Health and with the NCDHD to offer COVID-19 Vaccination clinics for families interested in receiving the vaccine. Vaccinations are free.

Wild Health will sponsor vaccinations for children ages 5-11, 12-16 and adult family members providing the Pfizer vaccine. Parents or legal guardians must be present at the clinic for youth vaccinations. The dates and locations are below:

  • Marnel C. Moorman School on: Saturday November 13th (1st dose) and Saturday December 4th (2nd dose) from 9am-12pm.

  • Painted Stone Elementary on : Friday November 19th (1st dose) and Friday December 10th (2nd dose) from 6pm-8pm.

  • Wright Elementary on: Saturday November 20th (1st dose) and Saturday December 11th (2nd dose) from 10 am-1pm.

Walk-ins are welcomed or you can sign up for a time at Just select Shelby County and then the school vaccine clinic you wish to attend.

North Central District Health Department will sponsor a vaccine clinic for children ages 5-11, 12-16 and adult family members with the Pfizer vaccine. Parents or legal guardians must be present at the clinic for youth vaccinations.

  • Southside Elementary (Blair Center) on Monday November 22nd (1st dose) and Monday December 13th (2nd dose) from 3pm-7pm. No sign up is needed.

Leadership Shelby visits Martha Layne Collins High School for a tour of the building and interviews from the students about their high school experience and their work-based learning experiences offered here in Shelby County.

Shelby County Public Schools KASA Principal for a Day

SCPS is participating in the KASA Principal for a Day program, designed to give legislators a first hand look at what is going on in Kentucky schools and to build stronger partnerships. SCPS invited community members, elected officials and legislators as well as legislative candidates to participate. Some more participants will join us in the next few weeks.

Shelby Student Spotlight: Award Ceremony

The Shelby County Public Schools Board of Education recognized our dental students from the ATC for engaging in real-world interviews and being awarded paid internships. We are grateful to Mortenson's Dental, Braces, Braces, Braces, Integrity Dental, Right Touch, and Shelbyville Pediatrics Dentistry for providing a professional environment and Work-Based Learning for our students.

We also recognized the 3rd Region Football Player of the Year, Kade Goodin, and his coaches as well as Donnez Marshall, the 2nd Region Player of the year, and his coaches. Missy Felice, GoTeachKY Ambassador, and Hannah Price, Educators Rising Ambassador were recognized for their advocating of the teaching profession. We are proud of our teachers, students, and the community support we experience daily.

Northside Early Childhood Center Thanks Community Partners

We are so thankful to have compassionate community partners that want to give back to our Shelby County Families. Thank you to Iain Duncan and Roll Forming for supplying winter coats to our Northside families.
