Teaching Strategies GOLD- Parent Reports

Our student reporting system, Teaching Strategies GOLD® (TSGold) is a valuable resource for teachers to help them get to know your child and help them understand the strengths that your child brings to the classroom. Staff is able to identify areas where a child needs support through a process of gathering evidence of learning as it emerges naturally throughout the course of typical classroom activities. In turn, at the end of each marking period we provide parents with reports to communicate in a format that is easily understood and straightforward.

In order to effectively measure student progress, teachers must have enough evidence to support each objective’s placement on the developmental progression. Due to the number of student and staff absences over the last several months, teachers have not had the opportunity to collect sufficient evidence for all children to support assessments of each child’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.

As a result, we have adjusted our Teaching Strategies reporting periods for this year. The current reporting period will end March 9th and Parent Reports will be available in RealTime on March 15th. The third reporting period will continue to align with the end of the district’s 4th marking period.

**Please note that this only applies to TSGold reporting. Quarterly IEP progress reports will continue to align to the existing marking period timeline.**

Big picture

Ms. Nancy Adeiye

Ms. Nancy was born and raised in Nigeria where she began working with children before she immigrated to the United States. When she arrived, she met and got married to her wonderful husband. Together, they enjoy traveling, listening to Christian programs, and spending time with family. In Ms. Nancy's free time she loves to bake and cook yummy sweets! Ms. Nancy loves working with preschoolers because they're so much fun to be around, especially when they discover new things for the first time!

Mrs. Deb Wassmer

With twenty years of experience in the field of education, Ms. Deb has always had a passion to work with our littlest learners. After graduating from Monmouth University and earning her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Psychology, she started her teaching career in Upper Saddle River where she taught first grade for several years with a huge interest in Literacy. For the past 15 years, she has worked as an instructional assistant in Matawan/Aberdeen and thoroughly enjoys the relationships she develops each year with her students (as each one is unique and special).

This year will mark her 25th wedding anniversary with her husband, Rob. Together they have raised two Matawan graduates, Courtney (2018) and Meghan(2019) who currently attend the University of Delaware and the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Deb and her family have been proud Aberdeen residents since 1999!

Ms. Deb's favorite hobbies include: spending summers at the Jersey Shore beaches (she loves Cape May and Point Pleasant), reading, shopping, spending time with her family and friends, and she is a huge ice hockey fan! She looks forward to traveling to Europe in the future, now that her children are grown!
