Roles and Responsibilities of Women in the goldfields
Most of the women there were looking after the children and pets. They were also helping by cooking, making jams, baking bread and many more things. There was also ladys who were used as nurses. They also were made to do other jobs like policing and making medecines. They also cleaned and washed up dishs and stuff. When they had nothing to do they woul go and help the man with there digging. They would all eat at the table but they couldn't wash it up till the next day.
Most Children died of dysentery, susceptible, sanitation. They would get weaker and thats how the parents would know there sick.Some children had bad diarrhea and became really ill and the father would have to dig a grave for their children.
