November News
What's happening at HGECC?
So many things to be thankful for.
Classes have been taking walks outside to collect leaves, fall books are being read, students are learning color words, and I have seen some leaf rubbings too! This is such an amazing time of the year to talk to your child about colors as the leaves change and weather becomes cold.
We do continue to go outside and get fresh air every day (weather permitting) so please remember to send a jacket/coat, hat, and gloves with your child so that they are warm. The outside fresh air does us all good, so let's keep our little ones warm so that they can enjoy it.
Our staff and students are continuing to work on building relationships and connections with each other. We are learning to solve our own problems through our words and expressing our feelings. Students are encouraging one another, wishing friends well when they are absent, and celebrating when a friend does something kind or helpful!
So exciting to watch our students learn and grow! I hope you are seeing it at home as well!

Conscious Discipline: Did you know?
Children and adults experience worries and fear, and anxiety is one of the fastest-growing mental health concerns. If your child experiences worry or fear, reassure them by staying calm, modeling a healthy response, and acknowledging their feelings. Let them know that it’s okay to be a little worried, but also give them confidence that they are safe and they can handle it! “You’re safe here. Breathe with me. You can handle this.”
