A New Addition to the Cafeteria

If you've ever had lunch in the cafeteria with your child, you know it can get a little noisy at times. This week we installed two new "Yaker Trackers" to help students monitor their noise level at lunch. Students have done a great job watching the stoplights and adjusting their noise level. We want lunch to be an enjoyable experience for all and this has been a HUGE help:-)

Free and Reduced Lunch Eligibility for Families Impacted by the Government Shutdown

When a household experiences a change in economic circumstances, the household may submit a meal application based on the change in circumstances. Furloughed employees or employees that are required to work without pay as a result of the federal government shutdown are considered to be experiencing a change in economic circumstances. Please remember that once eligibility is determined, that determination remains in effect for the remainder of the school year unless an updated application is submitted.

Lost and Found

Cold weather is here, and we have a lot of jackets (among other items) in the Lost and Found. If your child is missing his/her jacket, or lunchbox, please have them stop by the Lost and Found bin located in the corner of the cafeteria. Please make sure you label jackets, lunchboxes, and backpacks with your child's name so we can reunite lost items with their owners.

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families! By today, all students should have received a Great Kindness Challenge checklist. This is our school-wide activity promoted by our 3rd grade Project Vinátta Kindness Coalition group. Students are encouraged to do as many acts of kindness on their checklists that they can, then turn in completed checklists to their teacher, or myself. Please make sure their name and teacher’s name is on their checklist before they turn it in. I will be giving each child who completes their checklist a Character Award along with a certificate for a free kids meal at Mighty Fine! The last day to turn in checklists is February 5th. Thank you for supporting this activity, and reminding our children the importance of being kind and respectful!

No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” ~Aesop

~Aesop

LVES Office Hours

Our front office is open Monday-Friday from 7:30-4:00 pm. If you call before or after that time, you will need to leave a message and someone from the office staff will return your call the next day.
