Franconia Elementary School Directory
The Franconia Elementary School Student Directory is a great resource for families. By listing your family’s home address, phone number, and/or email account you can make it easier for your child’s friends and classmates to communicate. It also provides class lists which make party planning easy.
This year Franconia is using an online form that allows parents to submit contact information for all of their children with one form. To provide your directory information, you can click on the link below or scan the QR code that is available in the embedded link in the box below. If you do not provide contact information, you will not be included in the directory for this academic year. Those who do not provide information will not receive a directory.
Please have information submitted no later than Friday, September 15th.
If you have any questions about the directory or are having problems accessing the form, please contact Cheramie Benfield (cheramie23@hotmail.com).

*Race for Education Update*
This is an important clarification to the deadline for Race for Education label sheets. We urge you to complete the label sheets and return them by this Friday, Sept. 15th (the committee would like to work over the weekend), but we will honor the original deadline of Monday, Sept. 18th. Teachers of grades 3-5 and volunteers for grades K-2 are scheduled to begin prepping the mailers on Monday afternoon, so please have them sent to school as soon as possible and no later than 9/18.
Also, we are in need of additional volunteers on multiple days to prep the mailers and count money. If you are free and would like to help with this important step in our fundraiser please click on this link, https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/4090c44a9ac28aa8-race3/24649127. Or you can email Cheri McGiboney at cmcgiboney@comcast.net.
Race for Ed is our largest and most profitable fundraiser of the school year. It benefits the students by supporting field trips, assemblies, an author visit, Book Blasts, and classroom materials through teacher grants. Please consider sending 10 names of family and friends. If each of them sent just $5-$10 we would reach our goal of $20,000!
P.S. Reminder that PayPal is a quick and easy way to make a contribution. There is a button on our public Facebook page! Feel free to post this link: https://www.facebook.com/franconiahs.
Thank you for your help,

Calling all HELPERS! We are need of a creative individual to assist with activities throughout the school year. First up, we are looking for assistance with our September theme of Force Field for Good. We will be creating a visual display of our student’s acts of kindness. Back to School Tips
We are in full swing at Franconia Elementary. The beginning of the school year is always an exciting time but can be difficult for some students. Here are some tips to ensure a smooth transition back to school.
· Drop spot: A drop spot is a place where your student can hang or place their book bag and any other school supplies. It should be easily accessible and close to the door.
· Morning Routine: Help your child become more independent by creating a morning routine so that they know what to expect each morning. A visual checklist is a great way to create independence and set your child up for success in the morning.
· Afterschool Routine: Set up a homework area, free from distractions and close to a parent for your student to work on their homework. Some students like to eat snack and relax when they get home and others like to get right to work. Talk to your child and figure out what works best for your family, create a routine and stick to it! Consistency is important when creating new habits.
· Prep the Night Before: Encourage your student to place their book bag in their drop spot, pack lunches and set out clothes the night before. This will allow for an easier (and happier) morning for everyone.
· Communication: If you have concerns about your child, reach out to your child’s teacher and/or school counselor. Let’s work together to get this school year off to a great start!
