Volunteer/Visitor Reminders

Please remember that when parents are at the school as a visitor or a volunteer, we ask that you not just "drop in" on your students in their classroom. We try to limit interruptions during instruction time as much as possible. If you need to speak to your child and it cannot wait until after school, you can notify the office staff and they can have your child come to the front office. If you need to speak to a teacher about your child or about a concern, you may certainly set up a conference with them during their planning time or before or after school. We must maintain confidentiality, and speaking about a child with a room full of other children (even if it's your own child) is not confidential. We appreciate your understanding!

Texas Academic Performance Report

Here you will find a copy of our 2014-2015 School Report Card (SRC) from TEA. The purpose of the SRC is to inform parents and guardians about each school's individual characteristics such as student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures, as well as, student performance on the STAAR. More information about School Report Cards can be found on the TEA website at http://tea.texas.gov/perfreport/src/index.html/. GCISD School Report Cards are posted on our website along with Accountability Summaries and Texas Academic Performance Reports at http://www.gcisd-k12.org/Page/42024.

KC Club Spring Service Project

KC club has chosen to help Cooks Children's Hospital for our Spring Service Project. They are inviting the Student Body to participate by doing the following:

  • Making Valentine Cards that say "Happy Valentines Day" or “Hope you have a Wonderful Valentines Day” or “We are thinking of you”, etc. We are signing them from Colleyville Elementary School. Our goal is to have 300 by the time we have our KC meeting on February 4th.

  • Along with the Valentine cards, we will be collecting NEW bears for Cooks to give to their patients. If a child stays more than three nights, they are given a bear. One of our students took a tour recently, and they told her that Cooks gives out about 1,000 bears a month. The bears need to be new and of average size, due to the compromised immune system of the children. Deadline for this will be the same day, February 4th. Boxes are placed in both the front and back entrances for the Bears.

Thank you so much for your support of our Service Projects. You make CES a wonderful place to learn and serve.

CES 1:1 Take Home Initiative Update

GCISD Determining Community Interest In Tuition-Based Pre-K

In an effort to continually serve the families of Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, the district is investigating the feasibility of a tuition-based Pre-K program, beginning in the Fall of 2016. Those families who have a child who will be four-years old, on or before September 1, 2016, may participate in the program, depending on community interest.

As with any of the district’s special programs, families must enter into a lottery to be selected. If there is enough interest in the tuition-based program, then the lottery will be held for spots at pre-determined campuses. The proposed site locations are Bear Creek Elementary, Bransford Elementary, Colleyville Elementary and OC Taylor Elementary. These campuses were selected based on current and projected student enrollment and building capacity.

Families who are interested in learning more about the tuition-based Pre-K program are invited to attend the GCISD Special Programs Expo on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Cross Timbers Middle School at 6 p.m. At the Expo, district representatives will be available to answer questions about the proposed program. If you would like more information about the proposed tuition-based Pre-K program, click here.
