Vasco Núñez de Balboa's synopsis
He was born in Spain in 1475 and was an explorer and conquistador. Balboa helped assemble Darién on the Isthmus of Panama and became the interim governor. In 1513, he had led the very first voyage to the Pacific Ocean, but news of his findings were late to come for the king had sent Pedro Arias de Ávila to serve as the new governor of Darién. Ávila was jealous of Balboa and had his head chopped off.
Vasco's Early life and Exploration
He was born 1475 in Jerez de los Caballeros,in aprovince of Extremadrue in Castile,Spain.Vasco went on to become the first European to see the Pacific Ocean.Balboa died in January 12 1519,because the new governor was jealous of Balboa,and beheaded him.
