Scientific Revolution

What was the change?
The change in the scientific Revolution was the way they thought about the plants, sun and the moon. They thought that all the plants an the moon and the sun orbits around the earth this was called the Geocentric Model. But, a polish astronomer named Copernicus made a scientific break through when he made up the Heliocentric model, this means that the planets and moon orbit around the Sun.
Who were the people associated with the change?
Copernicus
Was a polish astronomer, who said that geocentric model didn't explain the movement of the sun, moon, and planets. After studying this problem for 30 years, he proposed a new model for the universe-the heliocentric model.in this model the sun is in the center of the universe. this was the first new model of the universe years!! But , Copernicus' work angered religious leaders in the Catholic and Protestant churches.
Kepler
His observations proved the heliocentric model of the universe was true. Kepler also proposed three laws of planetary motion based upon his observations:
- Planets move in elliptical orbits around the sun.
- Planets move more rapidly as their approach the sun.
- The time it takes a planet to orbit the sun is proportional to its distance from the sun.
Galileo Galiei
An Italian math professor who set out to prove many of Aristotle's theories about nature wrong
- Found objects fall at the same rate as lighter ones.
- Proved that heavy objects fall at the same rate as lighter ones.
- Galileo made improvements to the telescope and was one of the first to improve it enough to use it to observe the sky.
Isaac Newton
Issac newton was the man who found out about gravity to be more specific he made the Law of universal gravitation: every object in the universe attracts every other object
Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy: universe was like a giant clock
-All its parts worked together perfectly in ways that could be expressed mathematically;
- Believed God was the creator of this orderly universe ( the clock maker)
How is that change evidenced in today's modern society?
If we didn't have theses people in the world we would still think we were the center of the universe, and we would still believe in the geocentric model in stead of heliocentric model. It has helped a lot in today society we would never have evidences with out these tiny people in this world making a big difference in our world today and back then even those they went through so much hell just to help out the world.
