Introduction
You will be learning how to do polynomials. Potential uses for polynomials are: finding curve in a roller coaster, the arch of a football kick, and even a model the stock market
Vocabulary
Monomial- an expression containing numbers, variables, and/or multiplication
Polynomial- the sum of monomials
Standard form of a polynomial- when you write the monomials in descending (going down) order of degree
Binomial- has two monomials
Trinomial- has 3 monomials
Degree of a Monomial- the exponent of the variable, or the sum of the exponents of the variables.
Degree of a polynomial- the largest degree of any monomial in the polynomial.
Like terms- terms whose variables are the same
Coefficient- the number in front of the variable in each term
