If you have an incoming Kindergartener (or a new to Kipling 1st-5th grader) for the 2023-2024 school year it is important that you complete the registration process as soon as possible. The first step is to complete the online application. Click here to access the online forms. Please share this information with friends and neighbors. It is important that all incoming students register as soon as possible as our staffing decisions are based on the number of fully registered students.

Please note that only those students who are fully registered will receive an invitation for our spring Kindergarten Round-Up.

Active K-5 students currently enrolled are NOT required to re-register annually. However, all Early Learners Pre-K students ARE required to register for Kindergarten.

We will hold a district-wide drop-in kindergarten registration (and new 1st-8th graders) at the District Office (517 Deerfield Road) on:

• Thursday, February 2nd: 12-6pm

• Friday, February 3rd: 7:30am - 2:30pm

If you are interested in your 3rd-5th grade daughter participating in Girls on the Run, please see the attached flyer and make sure to return it to school by 1/25!

Building students’ social-emotional learning (SEL) skills is important at Kipling. As a part of the learning process, we will be asking our students to reflect on their own SEL mindsets via an online survey. The survey will be administered on February 3rd, and it should take no more than 20 minutes to complete. It asks students to self-reflect on their own grit, growth mindset, self-efficacy, self-management, social awareness, and emotional regulation.

Individual student responses can provide the school and family with insight into what skills the child self-identifies as strengths and others they would like to develop. The overall data helps us identify priorities and provide targeted learning opportunities to address the SEL needs in our classrooms.

Similar to the survey given in grades 3-5, we have created a very short (8-question) survey to administer to Kindergarten through 2nd graders. This survey will collect information about Sense of Belonging and Engagement, and the results will help guide our improvement at the school level.

Per policy, if you would like your child to opt out of taking the survey, please contact me no later than 1/31/23.

-Calling all Kipling Families! The 2023 Kipling Skate Night will be on Sunday, February 5th from 4:30-6:30pm at the Northbrook Sports Center (1730 Pfingsten Road, Northbrook). ALL fees including admission and skate rental are sponsored by the Kipling PTO! Please see the attached flyer for more details. We hope to see you all there!
