Bay Tree
Donated by Mary Baxter. The bay tree is planted in the nursery box between the rosemary bushes. Please refrain from picking the bay leaves until the tree is established.
Additional Trees
You may have noticed that the large group of trees that were being stored at the garden are now gone. We were gifted two apple trees in return. The apple trees are on the North side of the Asian garden and were planted by John & James. The appropriate potting soil was also donated.

Re-implementing: Harvest & Produce Sharing Procedure
- Harvest & put ALL produce on the picnic table
- Complete garden maintenance
- Once harvest & maintenance are finished, Weldon (or the Lead for the day) will call for all gardeners to select produce for their families. If you need to leave early or have a need for additional produce, please talk with Weldon.
Member spotlight: Audrey Brandt
Meet Audrey Brandt! She has been a member of the garden ministry for 1 year. She is originally from Ohio and was transplanted to Texas 20 years ago. She worked for Sears for 23 years and Lazyboy for 16 years. Her favorite thing about the vegetable garden is the people. Her least favorite thing about the garden is the weeds! Audrey is a regular at the YMCA and enjoys archaeological and biblical studies. Talk to her if you want a great stuffed zucchini recipe. :) Thanks Audrey for all of your hard work.
Well trained cucumbers
Surprisingly the cucumber plants are still hanging on. The leaves with the powdery mildew have died off and the new growth doesn't have the mildew yet. Weldon will be spraying an organic home remedy (milk & baking soda) to prevent additional build up.
