Fall Party - Parade and Parties Friday, October 28th

We are excited to celebrate our Fall Party at Prairie Star this year on Friday, October 28th

Costumes

Students are invited to wear basic costumes to school on Friday, October 28th. Families should work with their students to select comfortable costumes for the entire school day. Students need to be able to use the restroom in their costumes without assistance. Please be advised that students may not wear costumes that contain any type of weapon (real or play), blood, or scary costumes that are not elementary school appropriate.

Parade

We look forward to hosting an outdoor costume parade on Friday, October 28th, at 2:40 pm. Family members are invited to spread out along the sidewalk of the school if interested in attending the parade. Each class will parade around our sidewalk beginning at 2:40 pm.

Classroom Parties

All students will participate in fall parties with their classroom teacher on Friday, October 28th, after the parade. After the parade, any parents wishing to come to the party must come to the front doors to show an entrance ticket (which will be emailed out closer to the event) or photo ID. Feel free to check in starting at 2:00, as we expect a lot of visitors. Weather permitting, you will check in outside at the check-in table so you can enter right after the parade.

  • Food planning: All food brought to the parties must be from the nut-safer list. The school nurse will check all food before being brought to the classrooms. The nut safer list, as well as approved brands, are found linked at the bottom of each Friday newsletter.

  • Siblings: Although former PSE students love to stop by and see their former teachers, classroom parties are organized for the current students at PSE. The classrooms are simply too crowded to accommodate extra bodies on party days, and we want the focus to be on our elementary-aged students. We will not allow middle school students to enter the building on party day without their parents, and we strongly encourage families to make other arrangements for all siblings.

Our utmost job is to keep PSE students and staff safe. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to a fun time celebrating.

Birthday Policy

Student Birthdays: We do not celebrate birthdays with edible or non-edible treats. This is due to several factors, including health, safety, and preserving instructional time. Birthdays are extraordinary times for our children, and as such, the school will celebrate by providing children with special recognition throughout the day and throughout the school. Birthday invitations must be distributed outside of school to avoid hurting other students’ feelings. Thanks for your understanding. ~Stacey
