CHS Scholarships
2021-2022
The Ellis Foundation Scholarship
This great scholarship opportunity is for students graduating from high school this May who are interested in becoming Linemen or Wind Technicians.
These are impressive scholarships, with a value of up to $1,500 a semester for up to four consecutive semesters.
Students can earn a certificate in about one year OR an associate’s degree in about two years. The students who’ve completed these programs through us have all been hired in their industry and are out working – with little to no student debt – and secure, reliable careers.
If you know of any students who might be interested in discussing this, please direct them to me through the contact information below. They can also go directly to our online application and apply:
- Go to TheEllisFoundation.org.
- Click on the LOGIN at the top right corner.
- The user name is TEF and the password is Ellis2022.
- There is some initial paperwork and a picture to upload for all applicants.
Working for Youth KC
Three Program Partners Have Come Together
In early 2021, we witnessed the highest levels of violence our city had ever experienced and a decline in opportunities for young people in the summer due to the pandemic. We had to act.
Three organizations came together and the summer youth employment program was birthed. The initiative focuses on creating employment opportunities and expanding career pathways for Kansas City youth from historically marginalized communities most impacted by violence. http://workingforyouth.org/index.html
Pro X

KC Common Good is addressing the root causes of violence to instill hope and ensure a successful future for every individual in the greater Kansas City region. Our mission is to create an environment where all citizens can live safely and have access to real opportunities. As a convener and connector, our vision is to bring together diverse stakeholders to create societal change.
