Pluto Discovery and distance
In late Febuary 1930, Pluto was discoverd by Clyde W. Tombaugh.Yet, 15 years earlier, it's location was predicted by Percival Lowell. The distance from earth is about 3,000 km away. It is also the 2nd closest "dwarf" planet to the sun.
Name and Size
The name comes from the Greek God... Pluto. Pluto is the God of the underworld. Pluto is the biggest "dwarf" planet with a diameter of around 2,372km

Pluto is one-third water. It is pretty much ice and rock.The surface temperature is 229 degrees Celsius! Pluto has 5 moons:Charon (found in 1978)
Hydra and Nix ( both found in 2005), Kerberos (found in 2011), and Styx (found in 2012).

Pluto has been visited by 1 space craft. It flew by Pluto in July 2015 and was launched in 2006! It is called The New Horizons. It flew by Pluto the same year Pluto supposedly became a "dwarf" planet. I think Pluto is still the ninth planet. It is my favorite planet besides ya know... the one that we live on. :)
