Valentine's for Meals on Wheels
Students at Orefield Middle School made nearly 400 Valentine's Day cards to be distributed to Meals on Wheels recipients this coming weekend.

Feb 18 NO ONE EATS ALONE DAY AT PARKLAND MIDDLE SCHOOLS. Students at both middle schools will ensure that no one is eating alone by making sure that everyone is included at lunch and students sit with new friends and classmates. This is a part of the school-wide effort to combat bullying and promote random acts of kindness.
Feb 18 Community Advisory Council, 7 PM. The topic will be "Technology/Blended Learning" in the Administration Center Board Room, 1210 Springhouse Rd.
Feb 18 5th Grade Parent Night and Science Fairs at OMS and SMS
PHS STEM Team wins 1st place win at the PA Governor's STEM Competition with their "Drive Safe" device
The PHS team of Kamal Bookwala, Wouter Cos, Shika Veera, Tilman Guenther, Esha Kadakia will compete at States for the second year in a row.

Lehigh Valley Regional MathCounts Competition
From Springhouse Middle School, Victor Cai (6th grade) finished 8th, Alex Tang (7th grade) finished 6th, and Gayoung Lee (8th grade) finished 5th. Victor and Gayoung were also the highest scoring 6th grader and female competitor, respectively. Along with their 4th teammate Maya Parekh (8th grade), the Springhouse team finished in 3rd place overall, marking six straight years of placing in the top three at this competition. Orefield Middle School's Joshua Ye, 8th grade student, placed 7th.

Girls Volleyball Accolades
Siena Salvaggio and Kristin Krause were named All Americans by PrepVolleyball....they are the only Pennsylvanians named All American....Avery Perosa was Highest Honorable Mention by PrepVolleyball...Avery is one of Three Pennsylvanians to receive the honor.
Also, Kristin and Siena were named Honorable Mention Academic All Americans by PrepVolleyball. Kristin was also named by Volleyball Magazine as a Second Team All American.....she is one of only 10 athletes in the country to be named to the second team. With this recognition, Kristin is now the most recognized high school player to come from the Lehigh Valley....her honors are: 2 time Prep Volleyball All American, 2 time MaxPreps first team All American, MaxPreps National Junior Class All American, Under Armour First Team All American, Volleyball Magazine Second Team All American, Prep Volleyball Honorable Mention Academic All American, 2015 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year, 2014 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year Finalist, MaxPreps 2014 Junior Player of the Year Finalist, 2015 Nike Tournament of Champions All Star Team, 2 Time All State, 2 Time District XI First Team...2015 MVP, 2 Time EPC First Team, 2 Time Morning Call Player of the Year, 2 Time Lehigh Valley Live All Area Team, 2014 Little Lion Invitational MVP.
New TV Show - Pride of Parkland
Parkland News Network (PNN) release the first episode of their third new show, Pride of Parkland. From the artist and artwork showcased on a local billboard to a published teacher and World War 2 history expert and heartwarming stories about students working together, there's so much to be proud of here at Parkland. Parkland on PBS30 FOCUS
In case you missed the PBS39 FOCUS show this week which showcased Parkland Physics Teacher Jeff Wetherhold and the Fogelsville Elementary School Hour of Code event, you can view it here.

REGISTRATION FOR NEW STUDENTS AT PARKLAND HIGH SCHOOL
Registration for new students entering Parkland High School next fall is scheduled for Monday, February 22, 2016, and Tuesday, February 23, 2016. A snow make-up date is scheduled for Thursday, February 25, 2016. The evening registration is designated for those students currently residing in the Parkland School District, but not attending Parkland schools. Parents who would like to make a registration appointment should call Parkland High School at 610-351-5610 Ext. 73432 and ask for Mrs. Kris Chenworth, Registrar, or email chenworthk@parklandsd.org.
