News from Nurse Nancy:
Flu season is upon us. Here are some facts from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).
Influenza (flu) can cause mild to severe illness. Flu is different from a cold. Flu usually comes on suddenly. People who have flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
- fever* or feeling feverish/chills
- cough
- sore throat
- runny or stuffy nose
- muscle or body aches
- headaches
- fatigue (tiredness)
- some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than adults.
*It’s important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever.
Please encourage good handwashing, avoid touching your face, mouth, and nose area, cough in your sleeve and stay home if you have a fever.
Students are to be fever free for 24 hours without the help of Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Thank you and let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Title I:
