# KEEP GOING
National Suicide Prevention Week is September 6 -12. The theme for this year is the very simple but important message: Keep Going.
In the era of Covid-19, as we all try to protect our mental health and cope with uncertainty, it’s more important than ever that we be there for each other and take steps to prevent suicide. You don’t have to be a mental health professional to make a difference. There are simple things we can all do to safeguard our own mental health, and you don’t have to do it alone.
From learning the warning signs for suicide and what to do if you are worried someone is struggling, to advocating for smart suicide prevention legislation, to having a #RealConvo about mental health, to bringing education programs to your community, we can all learn new ways to help each other save lives. Together, we can #KeepGoing.
In advance of National Suicide Prevention Week, AFSP has launched a website featuring resources, personal stories, social media graphics, and a calendar of events planned throughout the month of September that you can participate in.
Together, we will #KeepGoing!

“WELCOME FRESHMEN” CAR PARADE
We can’t wait to welcome our freshmen on campus, so Chandler High School is hosting a “Welcome Freshmen” Car Parade on Thursday, September 3rd at 5:30pm! We’ll have a live DJ, decorations, Class of 2024 yard signs, and prizes for decorated cars. Head down Arizona Ave, take a right on Chandler Blvd, and take another right into the parking lot behind the Chandler Center for the Arts. We want all of our freshman Wolves and their families involved, even those starting school at COA, so please spread the word! We will be social distancing; freshmen and families have to remain in their cars. This is an event you don’t want to miss!
MORE FRESHMEN FUN
The celebration is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to get “Class of 2024” yard signs into the hands of our freshmen this Thursday! Please stay in your car during the parade, and we will hand you your free yard sign and C-Wolf decal through an open window or door, or you can pop the trunk and we’ll place them inside.
As part of the celebration, we will also be giving away 2020-2021 yearbooks and student activity passes to a few lucky freshmen in predetermined order (car #25, for example)!
As a special deal for freshmen, CHS Game Day shirts will be available for $10 at the end of the parade route in the sophomore parking lot adjacent to the baseball field. Cash only.
