Changing Educational Paradigms
Book groups will begin in December with The Innovator's Mindset.
In THE INNOVATOR'S MINDSET, George Couros encourages teachers and administrators to empower their learners to wonder, to explore—and to become forward-thinking leaders. If we want innovative students, we need innovative educators. In other words, innovation begins with you.
Curriculum Review Cycle
Please be on the lookout for an invitation from building principals to join this group.
MVRHS Office of School Counseling
in November, Guidance Counselor, Eric Ramage launched SAT Preparation Classes for juniors as part of the efforts to ensure success for students on the March 23rd administration. The SAT not only provides data for colleges and universities, but is also the NH state assessment for juniors. Additionally, interested sophomores may take the PSATs on this date.
This winter the Program of Studies review process will begin with a look at courses offered, the scope and sequence of courses, as well as forms and the format of the program. Stephanie Cooney, Guidance Department Coordinator, is working in conjunction with MVRHS administration and staff to conduct the review.
Using Data to Inform Instruction
IRS is working with Demonstrated Success to delve into NHSAS data to inform instruction. A faculty meeting data-dive initiated the discussion with a follow up training on how to use the NHSAS module assessments to gather formative student data.
Instructional Walkthroughs the week of 11/15 provided rich data on instructional strategies to meet the tier one needs of all students. CES and EVS began to work with Demonstrated Success on instructional strategies this winter - stay tuned for more information.
