Maire newsletter: September 16, 2022

Dear Maire Families

We had an amazing second week of school filled with the joy of learning, building relationships and fun! It has been so rewarding to be apart of all the learning opportunities taking place each day at Maire! As a team, we are focusing on helping our students to "find their voices" and become successful leaders! (Habit 8: Find Your Voice)

I wanted to say thank you to all of the families that were able to join us at Back to School Night! It was such a pleasure to get the opportunity to meet all of you! If by chance you were unable to attend, I have posted my presentation below.

If you have any additional wonderings or concerns, please feel free to reach out at anytime!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs. Nicole Filiccia

Principal of Maire

We Learn. We Lead. We Lift.

New Attendance Procedures!

We have new phones here at Maire. We still have the same phone numbers, but our attendance line has one added step.

When calling the attendance line, you will be asked to enter an extension. The extension is the last four digits of the attendance phone number 4301.

The attendance line can be used for absences, early pick-ups and planned vacations.

Below are the links to both the Back to School Night Principal presentation and The Maire Staff introductions.

Student-Parent Handbook 2022-2023

Lots of information can be found in our handbook including, lunch, drop off/pick up, Safe Routes for walking, medications, and contact information. Click: Student-Parent Handbook

End of the day update: Our Y5 and Kindergarten friends will be out at recess from 3:10-3:30. We are encouraging parents to please refrain from gathering on the blacktop and playscape area until the teachers are able to blow the whistle for the Kindergarten and young 5s friends to return to their line up spots. This will help to ensure that all of our Maire Bears are safely dismissed.

10/15 Maire Families Progressive Dinner

We are back to a normal one hour lunch period. Students in Y5-1st will eat first at assigned tables by teachers, while the 2nd-4th grades go to recess. Then they will switch. Our lunchroom will be structured for 2nd-4th to have grade level specific tables and "free choice" tables so that students can decide if they only want to sit with grade-level friends or if they can to sit with any friend in that lunch period.

Chartwells offers hot lunch. Once the menu is posted it will be available here: Money can be added to your child's account on the Parent Portal. Your child just needs to tell their teacher in the morning what hot lunch option they would like. The lunch person will find their name (or once they are ready, use the lunch card that food sevices will create for each child) to deduct money right from your account.

Students with a peanut allergy will eat at the peanut free table in the gym.

Please join our Maire Bears for lunch / recess as a volunteer!

Just a few reminders:

1. Please make sure to have an up to date Volunteer Release Inquiry on file in the office.

2. Please contact the office as soon as possible if you are unable to join us on your scheduled day.

Please feel free to call the Maire office for more information!

As always, we appreciate your dedication to our students!
