Staff Weekly Update
For the Week of August 31st, 2015
One of my favorite quotes ever!
For those of you that may not know, he has been training for American Ninja Warrior for months. Last spring, he was selected to be on the show. How did he do? You'll have to view the video to find out. It's a pretty darn amazing story!
INCREDIBLE WORK!
Mrs. Smith Is On Twitter!
If anyone else creates a Twitter page for their classroom, please let us know so we can follow you! Afraid to start your own Twitter page? Then scaffold by starting one as a grade level! The team that tweets together, stays together!
The Power of Hashtags (#)
What is a hashtag? Definition: The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages. (from Twitter Support, article 49309).
If you enter #ISTE2015, you will find THOUSANDS of tweets and many of them have links that lead you to some professional development, knowledge, insight, resources, etc . . .
What professional topics are you interested in learning more about this year? Close reading? Differentiation? Words their Way? Simply put type any topic with a # before it and I bet you'll find a wonderful new resource!
Need a starting point? Check out #gofindart - this was started by PVE's art teacher, Scott Miller.
