Frankenstein

Responsibility by Micah Wages

What is Responsibility.

Responsibility is the why we keep order, if we had no responsibility in the world people could just run around doing whatever they wanted to do with no consistence. Also there would know praise or acknowledgment for what we had now. This is why responsibility is so important in are our world if we didn't have it there would be no structure.

What does Frankenstein have to do with responsibility?

Great God! Why did i not then expire! Why am i here to relate the destruction of the best hope and the purest creature of earth? (Shelley 173). In this Quote from the book Victor is talking about how he feels responsible for the death of this wife.

Responsible for are selfs.

"Who shall conceive the horrors of my secret toil as i dabbled among the unhallowed damps of the grave or tortured the living animal to animate the lifeless clay: (Shelley 39). in this quote victor is talking about how he is making the creature and its putting him under a lot of stress. this is showing that we have to be responsible for are own action what he was doing was hard but he believed it would pay off. Is this worth it that is something that victor is responsible to decide and we know we made the wrong choices.

Death in the family

"It was to decided whether the result of my curiosity and lawless devices would cause the death of two of my fellow beings: one a smiling babe full of innocence and joy, the other far more dreadfully murder memorable in horror." (Shelley 64) in this quote Victor is talking about ow he feels that its is fault for the death of William his younger brother and for the death of Justine who was killed for Williams murder. the best part of this quote that show just how responsible he feels that his curiosity and lawless is what caused the death of two people.

Father and son

"he easily eluded me and said 'be calm! I entreat you to hear me before you give vent you give vent to your hatred on devoted head'" (Shelley 80) At this point in the story the creature finds victor and pleas with him to heard his story. Victor starts to feel or at least think that he might have some obligation to this creature because he was the one how made it.

Elizabeth's fault

"'i am' she said 'the cousin of the unhappy child who was murdered, or rather his sister for i was educated by and have lived with his parents ever since and even long before his birth'" (Shelley 66). In the quote we find that Elizabeth feel some what responsible for his death because she was the one that gave him the locket, and the locket is the reason why he was murder so she is party to blame for his death.

Running away

"Unable to Endure the aspect of the being i had created, i rusted out of the room and continued a long time traversing my bed chamber unable to compose my mind to sleep" (Shelley 43). At this point in the story victor doesn't take responsibility fir what he has made instead he just runs away and does face the problem this lack of responsibility is what course most of the problems in the book.
