Message from the Superintendent

Dear Panther Families,

This weekend, we mark the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001. The attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the plane crash in Western Pennsylvania resulted in the tragedy of the loss of 2,977 lives.

As we remember this tragedy in our Nation's history, let us be strengthened by the stories of courage of those who rushed to help -- firefighters, police and paramedics, selfless strangers helping strangers, with love and comfort from people across our Nation and around the Globe.

Love, courage and selflessness -- let that be us!

Dr. Donna Dunar, EPASD Superintendent

9/11: Honoring our Nation

On Thursday, September 9th, the East Pennsboro Area High School NJROTC students presented the colors at the Harrisburg Senators Baseball Game. We are truly proud of our NJROTC students and thank Gunnery Sergeant Robert Rainis for his leadership!

On Friday, September 10th, Mrs. Megan Toy presented a wonderful lesson about 9/11 to her 7th grade Advisory students. She discussed with students what it was like that day, and encouraged them to talk to their family members about 9/11. Mrs. Toy then showed a short video to mark "9/11 Day" with people pledging to do good deeds to honor the heroes of 9/11. Finally, Mrs. Toy's class created their own pledges for good deeds that they would complete over the weekend as part of 9/11 Day.

At the High School, Social Studies classes focused on gaining a deeper understanding of 9/11 and the continuing significance of the attacks.

In our elementary schools, students learned about Patriot Day, and what it means to be a helper and good citizen.

COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

In a continuing effort to take preventative measures against COVID-19, we are once again providing an opportunity for students 12 and older to get vaccinated and immediate family members are also invited.

EPASD is partnering with Hershey Pharmacy to provide a voluntary on-site COVID-19 vaccination clinic for East Pennsboro Area School District students who are 12 years of age or older, as well as their family members, on Friday, September 17, 2021 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the High School gymnasium.

If you are interested in having your eligible child(ren) participate in this voluntary clinic or want to register a family member, please email Kim Wood at by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 13th. Please note that the registration deadline has been extended.

A follow-up email containing your registration details will be sent to families that are interested in participating in this clinic. Hershey Pharmacy will be utilizing the Pfizer vaccine for children under the age of 18, which is administered in two doses. The second dose will be scheduled at the same time as the first dose on Friday, October 8 so please reserve both dates on your home calendar once you receive your scheduled time.

Adults 18 years of age and older have the option of receiving the two Pfizer doses or one dose of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine on either date (September 17 or October 8).

  • The clinic is open to students who are 12 years of age or older as well as any family members who are interested.
  • Participants will need to provide a photo copy of their insurance card on the day of the clinic as well as some additional paperwork that you will receive.
