Events and Celebrations in Rebel Country
Fall is in the Air
We have had a great start to the school year at USC. We are entering our second month of learning and growing at the high school. Students have settled into their routines and have embraced the new classes they are taking for the year.
The fall equinox has brought shorter days and crisp air to our mornings as students arrive ready to learn each day. The enthusiasm in the halls echo with student chatter as the day begins with students moving to their first class of the day. After students settle into their seats, one will hear class discussions on current events, students working together to solve real-world problems, and teachers sharing enthusiasm for their content area.
I'm impressed with our great group of students who strive to learn and succeed each day in academics, activities, and personal growth. The year is off to a great start in Rebel Country.

Homecoming Week 2022
The USC Homecoming Week was held September 18th - 23rd. Staff and students celebrated the week with activities and dress up days throughout the week. The events began Sunday evening with the Homecoming Coronation ceremony in the USC Auditorium where everyone learned more about the members of the homecoming court. The event concluded with the crowning of King Nathaniel Clore and Queen Paige Roberts.
The powder puff football game followed the ceremony where the juniors and the seniors played under the lights at the Wells Concrete Stadium. Fans cheered on both teams during fun competition.
The remainder of the week included dress up days and student activities. On Friday, the Homecoming Pep Fest for grades K-12 brought out school spirit with fun games and activities for students. The USC Homecoming Football game wrapped up the week's activities where the USC Rebels took on the Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons Knights.
Rebel Writers
Mr. Routh started Rebel Writers a couple years ago to find a way to connect USC and the community. It's a great way to share our perspectives on life, school, and students while connecting with the community.
Mr. Routh's article, Raining Happiness, is an impactful message for all. I encourage you to read it if you have not yet done so.
