Getting to Grips...

Getting to Grips with Spelling in Year 2

The ability to spell accurately and confidently is a key skill for successful writers. Consequently, there is now a stronger emphasis on spelling in the new National Curriculum. The ability to spell is now assessed through the KS1 and 2 English grammar, punctuation and spelling tests as well as forming a key component in teacher assessment of writing.

This half day course, delivered by Geraldine Lacey, will support Year 2 teachers to help pupils make good progress in spelling and to successfully apply their spelling and phonic knowledge in their independent writing.
