Introducing the new library website!

The library has a new website! On it you will find links to important websites, student resources, faculty resources, book lists, and book reviews. It will also keep you updated of current library events.

If you are interested in having a book review featured on the website, please send your review to Erin.Henderson@tuhsd.org.

Banned Books Week

The last week of September is Banned Books Week! This is a huge celebration in libraries and schools across the United States. During the time we celebrate our freedom to read and select the books that we choose and continue to fight against censorship of books in America.

Some classic novels that have been banned or challenged include The Catcher in the Rye, The Diary of Anne Frank, The Grapes of Wrath, All Quiet on the Western Front, and The Lord of the Flies. Modern novels like The Harry Potter Series, Speak, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian, and The Gossip Girl Series have all been banned or challenged. Even children's novels have been banned or challenged, including Hop on Pop, And Tango Makes Three, and Where the Wild Things Are.

Some people may think that censorship is a thing of the past, but school districts and libraries across the country have pulled books from their shelves because they believe you do not have the right to select your own reading material. Fight for your right to read! Pick up a Banned Book today!
