Updates from Nurse G
Nurse G needs the following information. Please contact her either by Dojo message, email at lgiangiordano@philasd.org, or text message at 215-266-8989.
Any student or household member who tests positive for COVID-19 must let Nurse G know.
2) Physicals
Grades K, 3, and 6 MUST have a new physical with updated immunizations and a dental visit.
For students in between these grades who have recently updated their records, please forward this information to Nurse G as well.
DECEMBER'S SCENES OF VIRTUAL LEARNING
Guest Speaker for 2nd Discusses Native American History
Second grade welcomed Ms. Maija Jones McLaughlin into their classroom for a lecture and discussion on Native Americans and buffalos. They just read The Buffalo are Back by Jean Craighead George for shared reading. McLaughlin is a Native American who is a librarian in upstate New York. Her father is from Onondaga tribe and her mother is from Oneida tribe. Second grade was happy to have her and learned so much!

Sunrise of Philadelphia Family Art Program
Sunrise of Philadelphia presents OUR STORIES, a yearly literacy and arts initiative led in partnership with Philadelphia's Fleisher Art Memorial. Conducted through several virtual sessions led by Fleisher's resident Teaching Artists, Our Stories is a chance for families to explore literacy together by creating dynamic artwork based on guided readings.
