PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
I would like to talk about the "Pride of the Titans!" I am so very proud of our successful week, Teacher of the Year nominees, and the work our SGC has put into our proposed Strategic Plan. I entreat you, parents, to be "all in" as we swing for the fences!
Our Student-Led Data Talks for Parents were a grand slam home run! I'm so proud of our students for taking the lead in their learning by tracking their growth and setting goals. Thank you to our teachers, the AVID team, administrators, parents, and students for making our first school-wide Data Talks a success. We are looking forward to repeating the Data Talks in the fall.
We will be shaking the roof with Titan Pride next Friday at our R.I.S.E. UP Pep Rally! The pep rally will promote school spirit, set behavior expectations, and promote "Smart, Happy, and Connected" students and staff! Our PBIS Team (Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports) has planned engaging games to reinforce our school's behavior goals of being respectful, individually responsible, safe, and excellent in an entertaining way.
The public comment period for our 2018 Elkins Pointe Strategic Plan and the Candidate Declaration phase for the Elkins Pointe SGC has begun. Parents, we are looking for your input and feedback on our Strategic Plan. Lily Pabian and Jennifer Thompson will be rolling off the board, which means that we will have two parent-elected positions to fill. Please show your Titan Pride, by clicking here to declare yourself a candidate. Please take a moment to view the plan and to give feedback.
Congratulations to Emory Rawlings Johnson, Carly Nessmith, and Todd Wilson for being selected as the top three candidates for Elkins Pointe Teacher of the Year. We are so proud of our teacher nominees. We look forward to announcing our Teacher and Professional of the Year!
Sincerely,
Kindra L. Smith, Ed.S
Principal

Thank you to our Construction teacher, Daniel Moffit for picking up the reigns and creating magic!

Box Tops Due Feb. 15th!
Send Your Box Tops as Valentine to EPMS!
All Box Tops must be turned in by February 15, 2018, for the spring submission. Please carefully trim your box tops and ensure that all submitted box tops have expiration dates on or after March 1, 2018. Box Tops expiring prior to this date cannot be submitted.
Place all Box Tops in a baggie and turn them into the front office collection box by 2/15!
Box Tops can be clipped from participating products. See the full list of products here: http://www.boxtops4education.com/participating-products.
You can also earn Box Tops for Elkins Pointe via a free app that you can download in the App Store. Just download the app and check for offers each time you shop. After checkout, simply redeem the offer in the app and scan your receipt. Points from the offers are added to our online account within hours of your purchase (PLUS you can still clip the Box Tops on these products and submit them for the general submission).
Each Box Top is worth .10 - schools can earn thousands of dollars through this program! Our goal was to raise at least $400 this year through this program, although the fall submission only earned us $180, so we really need your help in meeting our goal. Note that our feeder elementary schools raise $1,000 or more at their schools, so please think of sending some of your Box Tops to Elkins!

Titans Got Talent Expo - 4/13
The PTSA and the Drama Club are proud to present “Titans’ Got Talent!” for a One-Night-Only show on Friday, April 13th! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER because the Elkins Pointe Talent Expo is coming to a Stage near you … this is a Talent "Showcase", NOT a contest, so don't be shy and join in on the FUN!
Talent/Act submission forms will be available soon in Titan Talk and on the PTSA website.
Students wanting to participate will be required to turn-in this "Act Proposal" Form on Feb. 21& 22 at the after-school meetings to go over the details of the act and what will be needed on stage for the performance. In addition, if you have dreams of being the Show’s Emcee, announcing each act with your own flair, you will have the opportunity to audition for that role at the Feb 21& 22 meetings.
So, please start brainstorming what talents you would like to share on stage with your Elkins Pointe community at the Talent Expo, and have your proposal ready for submission by February 21st. Any questions, please direct to Jennifer Rodman, jcrodman@yahoo.com.
