Showcase of the Arts
Hello Jamison Community!
We are excited to announce that Jamison Elementary School will be hosting a “Showcase of the Arts” event this year on the evening of Thursday, March 16th. All first through sixth grade students are encouraged to participate, and their families and friends are invited to attend!
The evening will be divided into three sets, each of which will include a short music performance of two grade levels in the gym, followed by a self-guided tour of the school to view student artwork as Jamison community members provide additional musical entertainment. The students have already begun rehearsing their songs and creating their masterpieces in Music and Art class, and they are excited to share their creativity with you!

Awards
Character Counts Award:
Each month, students are nominated for a different character trait. January’s character trait was Fairness.
January’s Winner:
· Shealyn Robinson
Nominees:
· Cathy Liu and Emily Szymanski
We Salute You Award:
This is a monthly award given to a student that a staff member feels is dedicated to being the best person they can be in all that they do. This award can be given to a student that goes out of his/her way to help a friend, is a great classmate, and gives 110% in everything he/she does. This student receives a certificate at our monthly assembly as well as a Jamison Jet T-Shirt.
January’s Winner:
· David DeCicco
Golden Ticket Winners:
When a student is caught doing something exceptional (respect, responsibility, safe community, sportsmanship, demonstrating unbelievable character), they can receive a GOLDEN JET Ticket.
January’s Winner:
· Teddy Loria
Jet Ticket Winners:
When students are “caught being good”, a Jamison staff member can recognize their behavior by giving them a JET Ticket. The student must write his/her name on the ticket and circle the appropriate character trait (Respect / Responsibility / Safe Community / Sportsmanship). Students place the JET Tickets in the Ticket Box located outside of the Main Office. Then, three students from grades K-3 and three students from grades 4-6 are randomly drawn at our monthly assembly and are given Jet T-Shirts.
January’s Winners:
· Peter Dozier
· Lillian Flannery
· Sean Flynn
· Arvin Mamidi
· Joshua Pomeroy
· Nathan Vollman
Honorary Jet:
Each month, someone in our JET community will be recognized for all that he/she does for our building. In January, we recognized our PEN teacher, Mrs. Stash.
Mrs. Stash goes above and beyond for the students at Jamison. Not only does Mrs. Stash serve our gifted population, she also assists in creating challenging activities for all of our students in our classrooms. Recently, Mrs. Stash assisted our 6th grade JET Pilots in the organization and implementation of our Wheel of Fortune assembly. Mrs. Stash, thank you for all that you do!
