Cougar Weekly Update
November 16, 2018
Principal's Message
What an unexpected snow storm in November! Schedules certainly can get disrupted! Our Veteran's Day Assembly has been rescheduled for next week. I wanted to share some of the projects that our classrooms created to honor our veterans. Students learned that veterans served to make all of us free. I appreciate the beautiful work that students created.

Survey for Calendar for 2019-20
Below you will find a link to a survey regarding the development of 2019/20 academic school year calendar. It contains nine questions and is expected to take less than two minutes to complete. Your feedback may be used to make adjustments to two models that are currently in development. Both models will be presented to the School Board at their December 2nd work session. I will be seeking an approved academic calendar at the December 17th school board meeting.
The survey will be open until Friday November 16, 2018.

“Be an Upstander, not a Bystander!”
Manassas Park staff and students! Let’s take a stand against bullying by participating in a week of Bullying prevention activities with a focus on being an upstander!
MOnday: Wear your clothes inside out - This shows bullying can cause hurt feelings on the inside more than anyone knows on the outside.
Tuesday: Wear two different shoes - Take a walk in someone else’s shoes, to show compassion and empathy for someone’s situation.
Wednesday: Upstanders are superheroes - Let all students know you are a superhero in the effort to stop bullying by dressing up as a superhero.
Thursday: Wear blue - The official color of Bullying Prevention.
Friday: Team up AGAINST bullying - Wear your favorite team shirt or jersey to show that we are teaming up against bullying. Together we can make a difference!
